Well, I say 'our' but it was really
Tiny Lady's idea – and she also thought out the name, set up the
blog, picked the design and everything, so I'm pretty much just
freeloading here, really. Anyway, let's have a look at what you might
expect from us:
We're fairly new collectors but really
fired up, so most things are still in their experimental stages,
really, but at the same time we're trying a lot of them. So that's
building furniture, for sure, both from official plans ( we are part
of the British Sylvanian Families club ) and trying out our own
designs, so far they're copies of things, usually plastic, found on
the internet. We've been working with paper so far but are just on
the verge of converting to wood, which, as we hope, might prepare us
for building a whole little house for our Sylvanians. Apart from that
there is a practice of creating tiny things with the FIMO polymer
clay, though that's more Tiny Lady's job...Okay, it's only her
job, seeing as my attempt at watermelons might easily have been the
most painful thing in my creative history. The time I stuck a needle
underneath my fingernail included. Anyway, since we're talking
needles, we expect there to be some sewing going on, too. In the near
future they'll just be pillows and some such, but in the long run we
hope to go clothes and whatnot.
We hope to post pictures of the
finished stuff and also the how-to, complete -hopefully- with the
plans to be printed and cut out easily for assembly. We also expect
to post about the things we buy for our collection and maybe even
stories about the people living in our village – how did they come
to live there, what it is they do for a living, how they live and so
on. To put it simply, we'll post away, writing about anything
Sylvania-related that happens in our lives ( and theirs ). It's
probably going to be a mess but there's always tags and categories to
help you navigate and us organize.
We really hope you enjoy our blog and
maybe even find some inspiration for your own exploits. We'll give it
our best!
